It involves the ability to truck or pipeline water away from
its natural source and cycle.
How to turn a cheap public commons good such as clean
drinking water into an expensive oligopoly commodity.
It's a bit like why there are no decent bike lanes to force
people in to cars or risk personal injury.
There are about 5 major multinationals involved in water
privatisation. If they make tap water
rancid with risk of toxicity then they can charge more for cleaning it. Whoever owns the purification plant can
start making massive profits if the only alternative is toxic algae ridden
putrid slime with radioactive heavy metals that sets on fire.
Access to drinkable water is going to be increasingly
important.
In England a few years ago hosepipe bans in the summer were
common with msm going on about drought and the lack of water crisis. It was always a water management
crisis. Lack of reservoirs which have
been made into houses, building on top of flood plains and drainage.
I particularly remember the last hose pipe ban whilst we had
a deluge of water non stop for months that was causing flooding, I used to joke
with people "funny drought were having" as the rain poured and poured
on our heads. The water companies
should be ashamed of their incompetence. But they are all owned by foreign
investment hedge funds and are too busy counting their dividends.
People collecting their own water to do whatever is so much
less than the industrial scale abuse of water in fracking which is blasted into
the ground with 10 to 50 percent lost for generations from the water
cycle.
To go around talking about drought and at the same time
urging fracking is completely irresponsible nonsense. I predict usa invading countries to
corporatise pure water in the future as they increasingly frack their own away
into toxic algae ridden sludge.
